The talent and dedication of the swimmers from the UCundinamarca Sports Club were evident during their outstanding participation in the municipal phase of the Intercollegiate Games, held at the Club del Comercio in Fusagasugá. Nine athletes reached the podium, winning 18 medals and proudly representing their educational institutions.

Coach Anyi Lorena Colmenares Galeano explained that the competitive process began in June with the municipal phase, continued in September with the departmental stage, and culminated on October 22, 2025 with the municipal awards ceremony.

Young talents Isabel Ortiz Herrera and Thomas Josué Macías Díaz dominated their categories, each winning three gold medals. Isabel triumphed in the 50-meter butterfly, 100-meter breaststroke, and 200-meter individual medley, while Thomas won in the 50-meter butterfly, 100-meter breaststroke, and 50-meter freestyle.

Also standing out was Danna Valeria Martínez Delgadillo, who won two gold medals in the 50-meter butterfly and breaststroke, and Loren Sofía Hernández Betancourt, who completed the golden quartet with her victory in the 50-meter freestyle.

The silver medals came thanks to the efforts of Daniel Triana Moreno (50m freestyle and backstroke), Camila Pinzón Contreras (50m freestyle and backstroke), Juan Esteban Quintero Pardo (50m freestyle and backstroke), Samuel Alejandro Hurtado Montenegro (50m butterfly) and José Jerónimo Mora Montoya (50m breaststroke).

Heading to the Departmental

Four swimmers, Isabel Ortiz, Thomas Macías, Daniel Triana, and Camila Pinzón, qualified for the departmental phase, where they will represent Fusagasugá in the next competitive stage.

“These results reflect the effort, discipline, and dedication of our athletes,” said coach Anyi Lorena Colmenares Galeano, who also thanked the parents for their constant support.

Training continues in preparation for the next competition, which will take place in December in the municipality of Mosquera (Cundinamarca), under the joint direction of coaches Anyi Lorena Colmenares Galeano and Lisbeth Nallibe Rincón Cuéllar, who work as a team to continue reaping successes inside and outside the pool.
