Students and teachers from the Business Administration, Animal Science and Systems Engineering programs, community actors such as the rector of the Institute of Agroindustrial and Environmental Sciences (ICAM), teachers from the Higher Normal Educational Institution and four representatives of the productive sector (Associations linked to the Business Strengthening Cluster) met to participate in the Creative Capacity Development Workshop, Ubaté Section.
For three days, the attendees built five models of low-cost technologies: Water Pump (from PVC pipes), Composter (from three cans and garbage bag), Angelitas Bee House (wood), LED Lamp (wood and LED strip) and Solar Charger (wood, solar panel, basic electrical parts).
“One of the purposes of the workshop is to reach out to communities and enhance their capacity to be autonomous producers of technology; it also aims to evaluate the behaviors that different actors may have regarding the issue of sustainable entrepreneurship as input for the construction of the projected academic products (academic articles and space for citizen participation),”, explained Sandra Milena Melo, teacher of the Project Formulation subject.
On the other hand, the Creative Capacity Development workshop gathered participants' experiences, opinions, and perceptions regarding sustainable entrepreneurship and how to promote it in the province, both verbally and in writing. Furthermore, a group was formed that is interested in continuing to share ideas and experiences, and participating students were integrated into the research group, with the aim of developing future projects to foster sustainable entrepreneurship in the province.
The academic event, led by the ADCUN research group of the Business Administration program, was attended by workshop facilitators sent by C-innova and the participation of co-research teachers and administrative staff during the three days that the activity took place.
C-INNOVA, the organization conducting the workshop, describes it as follows: “Creative Capacity Development is a methodology that prepares people to create or adapt technologies that allow them to improve and strengthen their communities. It is an effort to combine multiple tools from different design practices into a curriculum that is easy to deliver to diverse audiences regardless of their educational or socioeconomic level.”.
Finally, the academic activity was developed within the framework of the research project "Training in Sustainable Entrepreneurship and its Influence on Rural-Urban Migration", which aims to analyze the creative capacity and diagnose the potential for sustainable entrepreneurship in the workshop participants.
