On September 12th, at the Girardot branch campus, Susana Rosa Castrogiovanni, a specialist in environmental education for sustainable development, delivered a lecture entitled: Sustainable Development, a Paradigm of the Present and Future. In her presentation, she emphasized the importance of the University beginning to implement significant changes that should be on the agenda of the entire academic community.
“We live in a consumer society that disregards the planet’s resources, which is why we must work to produce useful and truthful information on these issues, so that it goes viral on social media and in the news. Above personal interests, it is necessary to develop immediate actions, promoting respect for nature and biodiversity,“ he emphasized.
As a final reflection, he emphasized the commitment to environmental issues, to building a global environmental mindset, and especially to carrying out work that, from the local level, contributes to a sustainable environment.
