Successful musical composition and creation

The project of composing and creating the musical bambuco Utópico de Amor is an initiative of the students of the Music program and arose from the communication class of teacher Henry Pérez, Zipaquirá Extension, Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Political Sciences to celebrate the day of “Love and Friendship”.

The students proposed creating an audiovisual communication piece using stop-motion animation and collage techniques to recreate the meaning and intention of the lyrics, under the theme: What love and friendship are there, when history is riddled with betrayals? It is worth noting that the students presented this class project in a social media competition, where they won first place and a prize of 7 million pesos.

The lively musical piece begins with introductory lyrics that speak of disappointment and heartbreak, situations most people have experienced at some point in their lives. This introduction incorporates elements of Balkan music, creating a humorous tone to the situation.

The central theme of the lyrics focuses on love and true friendship; the objective of the composition is to generate hope and make the public understand that everything good requires some patience and the right times and moments.

This project involved a large team, organized into groups: Composition, Editing, Performers, Design, Lyrics, and Narration. UCundinamarca congratulates all the students who contributed to this creative work.
