Students, protagonists of their new stage

With guided tours, inspiring messages and comprehensive support, UCundinamarca welcomes nearly 2,000 students across its seven regional units.

From July 28 to August 5, the University of Cundinamarca is carrying out the "Welcome to University Life" experience, an institutional initiative that welcomes new students in all its regional units: Chía, Facatativá, Soacha, Ubaté, Zipaquirá, Girardot and Fusagasugá.

During the day, students participate in guided tours of the academic, administrative, and student services areas, accompanied by the university team. This initial introduction allows them to become familiar with the key services, processes, and departments that will be part of their university life.

Dr. Adriano Muñoz Barrera, the university rector, has actively participated in these experiences, sharing a message of inspiration and reflection with the students: “Welcome to the UCundinamarca community, characterized by being translocal, transhuman, and transmodern, which goes beyond ideologies and social or cultural barriers. Here, we are all educators, we all learn, and we all build,” he stated.

Furthermore, the rector highlighted the human approach of the institution's educational model, which is based on the connection with the environment, with others and with oneself, elements that are part of the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT), fundamental in the path towards institutional accreditation of High Quality.

The protagonists speak

Leonardo Javier Pérez Alfaro, a nursing student at the Girardot campus, shared his excitement about starting this journey, saying, “I am very motivated by the university’s prestige. My goal is to train as a compassionate and highly skilled nurse.”.

María Alejandra Lozada, also from the Nursing program, added: “I chose this career because it has a very good reputation. I have high expectations for expanding my knowledge and acting ethically in different everyday situations.”.

From Fusagasugá, Heidy Helena González López, a new Business Administration student, expressed, “The University of Cundinamarca seems like an excellent opportunity for professional growth. I hope to find many strengths, support, and to give my best.”.

Brian Arley Toro, a Software Engineering student at the Soacha campus, said that a professor recommended the University to him. “My dream is to represent UCundinamarca in another country. I want to have excellent academic performance and bring honor to the institution.”.

The “Welcome to University Life” reaffirms UCundinamarca's commitment to the comprehensive education of its students, providing them from day one with a warm, guiding and motivating environment to confidently begin their university experience.
