The Soacha extension becomes the first campus of the University of Cundinamarca to achieve this important goal in order to contribute to the commitment to living in balance with nature and to train comprehensive professionals who work in environmental sustainability.
It is worth highlighting that the students acquired knowledge in waste management and climate change, through theoretical and practical pedagogical activities, learning about the importance of good deeds, such as, for example, the proper management of waste and its reintegration into the production cycle.
The activity, organized in conjunction with the Administrative Directorate and the Environmental Management System of the extension program, also included a forum for discussing environmentally friendly solutions to counteract harmful effects on the environment. “It is important to learn about the environmental initiatives and ideas generated by the future professionals of the municipality, which integrate the need for change that strengthens environmental conditions, and in this way, continue working for the progress of the region,” explained Dr. Fabio Gil, Administrative Director of the Soacha extension program.
“This environmental promoters course is managed based on interactions with our external stakeholders, with whom we constantly work to maximize the results of environmental management carried out within the institution and which have an impact on the municipality,” added Dr. Gil.
