“The purpose of the event is to encourage research through research groups, mainly to bring students closer to research so that they can observe and understand how vital research is in academic and professional training in environmental impact issues, framed within the fields of learning, strategic fronts of an education for life, and the search for sustainable and innovative ideas that arise from research projects, transcending the theoretical,”, explained Luis Hernando López, the teacher who organized the event.
For two days, students from the Public Accounting and Business Administration program exchanged knowledge and built research networks with attendees and researchers from the private and public sectors, such as the National Distance Education University (UNAD), the Higher School of Public Administration (ESAP), the Tolima Institute of Professional Technical Training (ITFIP), among others.,
The main activity took place with the discussion “Economic Valuation of Water as an ecosystem service in agriculture in the Sumapaz Province”, Directed by Dr. Olga Lucía Albarracín Álvarez, Researcher at the National University of Colombia, with the participation of Dr. Néstor Emilio Ruiz Rodríguez, director of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Sumapaz CAR, Green and Sustainable Business Office of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development; Cundinamarca Environment Secretariat; Fusagasugá Agriculture and Environment Secretariat, and research professors.
It is worth noting that two exchange students participated in this edition of the academic event. Mariana Crescente Pereira from Brazil presented the paper: “Importance of a foreign language (Portuguese) for the professional and entrepreneurial development of students in the Business Administration Program at the University of Cundinamarca, Fusagasugá campus, 2019,“ and Brenda Isabel Juárez González from Mexico presented ”Creation of the Mirror Classroom between the Technological Institute of Celaya and the University of Cundinamarca.”.
