The University of Cundinamarca, through its Public Accounting Program, awarded 97 certificates to participants in the project "Strengthening the social fabric towards entrepreneurship through Accounting Education for the Sumapaz Region," an event held on November 21st at the Emilio Sierra Baquero Auditorium, Fusagasugá Campus.
For three months, educational activities related to social development were held at the University facilities. The project modules, offered free of charge, aim to foster development, employment, and leadership in the municipality of Fusagasugá.
“We are contributing to a fundamental function, which is to provide training for life. For this reason, this project is very important because we are fulfilling our commitment to provide coverage to our community to improve the quality of life and the development of Fusagasugá,”, Yanira Patricia Barrera, professor of the Public Accounting Program, stated.
The University of Cundinamarca coordinated the outreach program with the Secretariat of Family and Social Integration of the municipal administration so that those who complete their training in “Entrepreneurship and Accounting Module I and II” will be given seed capital and can carry out their business idea.
This project seeks to generate a great impact on the population since it is training single mothers, micro-entrepreneurs, members of action boards and the community in general.
The training on the different topics was carried out by the Public Accounting students and is part of the social service graduation work modality.
