Strengthening academic ties at a global level

By Alejandro García Suárez – Communications Advisory Office

The Psychology program in Facatativá seeks to strengthen academic ties and foster knowledge exchange. On this occasion, the institution hosted two knowledge and learning managers from the University of Loja, Ecuador, as part of the academic mobility program “Dialoguing with the World.”.

For two weeks, teachers Karina Cecibel Flores Flores and Mayra Daniela Medina Ayala will actively participate in scheduled activities that encompassed teaching and research in psychology.

Rafael Cortés Lugo, coordinator of the Psychology Program in Facatativá Extension, explained that specialized seminars and workshops will be held, where teachers will share experiences and knowledge with students and professionals of the program.

In addition to participating in teaching activities, the professors will collaborate on joint research projects with members of the university faculty. This collaboration aims to explore new areas of study and promote the advancement of knowledge in psychology.

Karina Cecibel Flores Flores, one of the exchange professors, highlighted that teaching and learning processes vary from country to country, something they have observed during their time at the university. According to Flores, this requires Ecuadorian students to participate more actively in the classroom.

The knowledge and learning manager noted that they are bringing a novel experience to their students, with the goal of making the learning process more dynamic, active, and comprehensive. She also emphasized the importance of Ecuadorian students' participation in the classes.

On the other hand, teacher Mayra Daniela Medina Ayala expressed that they have high expectations after participating in some classes of the Psychology program, where they have been able to observe the high level of knowledge and training of the University of Cundinamarca.

He also highlighted the focus on problem-solving and the creation of research groups, aspects that he plans to implement in the Psychology program at the University of Loja in Ecuador.

The professors will be at the institution until April 15, 2024, and will also participate in academic events to establish professional contacts and explore potential future collaborations. Their presence on campus demonstrates the university's commitment to internationalization and academic excellence.

This experience is expected to benefit both students and teachers, promoting the exchange of ideas and professional development in psychology.

This academic mobility is just the beginning of a continuous and fruitful collaboration between the university and other institutions around the world, with the aim of enriching the academic landscape and fostering excellence in higher education.
