“The 21st Century Citizenship learning field aims to train students at the University of Cundinamarca to be transmodern citizens who can exercise their rights, fulfill their duties, and live together in peace and harmony in society, in order to be free, autonomous, and responsible individuals who participate in the democratic life of the country,” emphasized Darwin Andrés Díaz, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities.
The mission initiative is led by the Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Political Science, Academic Development, Academic Vice-Rectorate, Directorate of Self-evaluation and Accreditation and teachers from different areas of knowledge, who have contributed to the consolidation of the field of 21st century citizenship learning.
The socialization of the 21st century citizenship learning field proposes experiential learning experiences to solve problems of social, political and personal reality in physical and virtual contexts.
The structure of the field is made up of a diagnostic of 100 questions similar to Saber Pro tests, a leveling component of eight multimedia units, subsequently a CAI Citizenship 21st Century of three modules with the theme of rights and duties, living in community and building participatory democracy and ends with the academic social network called community.
First-semester students in all undergraduate academic programs will be able to access the 21st Century Citizenship course through the classroom or virtual platform starting next semester; however, the Dean's Office of Humanities has expressed its intention to conduct a pilot program this second semester of 2019.
