As a higher education institution responsible to society, nature, culture, family, among other dimensions of the Transmodern Digital Educational Model – MEDIT, the University of Cundinamarca strengthens its commitment and articulation for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs and the 2030 agenda of the United Nations.
That is why the Academic Council approved the agreement "by which the Dimensions of the Transmodern Digital Educational Model, MEDIT and the Translocal Lines defined by the University of Cundinamarca are articulated with the Sustainable Development Goals 2030.".
“Through social media campaigns, we explain to the university community what each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals entails and how they align with the dimensions of MEDIT. Furthermore, we have strengthened and incorporated the relationship of the SDGs with other projects and processes within the University, to broaden their understanding and impact,” explained Antonio Acosta, leader of University Social Responsibility.
“When we talk about Social Responsibility at UCundinamarca, we are talking about our awareness of the institutional decisions, actions and responses in relation to the effects and impacts of the operation and institutional management,” said Patricia Gil, Director of University Social Interaction.
Currently, the University has received recognition in Social Responsibility, in Commitment to Biosecurity and in relation to the institutional measurement of our Carbon Footprint, awarded by the Fenalco Solidario Corporation and successfully renewed year after year since 2020.
In the current term, the Directorate of University Social Interaction is working to obtain the ICONTEC Sustainability Seal for the University, and certification as a Family-Friendly Entity (efr) with the Másfamilia Foundation.
From the Directorate of University Social Interaction, we know that responsibility goes beyond the SDGs and our commitment is to the identification and solution of problems towards the positive transformation of our territories, based on the dialogue of knowledge with the communities.
