Soacha, taking firm steps towards Accreditation

Students, professors and administrative staff of UCundinamarca, Soacha Extension, participated in the weighting day developed by the Directorate of Self-evaluation and Accreditation.

The University of Cundinamarca's self-evaluation process began its third phase at the Soacha Extension with a weighting exercise involving students, graduates, professors, administrative staff, and the community at large. The event, divided into three parts, was of great importance toward the ultimate goal of institutional accreditation.

Students from the Industrial Engineering, Software Development Technology and Sports Science and Physical Education programs at the Soacha Extension actively participated in the day, giving their points of view on the different topics discussed.

The first part of the day was the opening session, during which the general guidelines for the Self-Evaluation and Accreditation Process were presented. Emphasis was placed on the weighting of factors. Following this, the Improvement Plan was presented, along with an analysis of the current status of each program. Finally, a collaborative working group process was conducted to identify the 10 quality factors. During this phase, suggestions for improving each program were gathered.

For Libardo Acero, professor of the Sports Science and Physical Education Program and leader of Self-Evaluation and Accreditation of said program, the important thing is not just the grade, “"The important thing about the process is to recognize that many things are done well in the program, but there are also aspects that need improvement.".
