Soacha paid tribute to 50 years of institutional life

At the Soacha Extension, with the participation of the Extension Director, Fabio Gil, the Academic Vice-Rector, Pablo E. Flórez, teachers and students, a heartfelt tribute was paid to the Institution.

On November 15th, the Soacha Extension held a ceremony to commemorate the institution's 50th anniversary. The celebration began with a Mass and a greeting from the administrative director, Fabio Julio Gil Sanabria, who, on behalf of Rector Adriano Muñoz Barrera, emphasized the institution's defining vision of defending life, civility, and democratic values.

For his part, the Academic Vice-Rector, Pablo Emilio Flórez, reviewed the University's most important achievements in recent years, highlighting the accreditation process currently underway at UCundinamarca and the infrastructure improvements that have been made. Following this, a period of recognition was held, during which a posthumous tribute was paid to Professor Leonel Morales Reina with a minute of silence. Afterwards, the entire university community was invited to share a toast.

In the afternoon, the community gathered in the green area of the Institution and enjoyed the music of the Sibaté collective "Pitos y Tambores", an ensemble that, with its tropical repertoire fused with modern rhythms, enlivened the celebration.
