Skating adds 17 medals

The UCundinamarca Speed Skating team had an outstanding participation in the IV Festival of Schools Copa Ruta Dorada, Season 2026, held on February 7 and 8 in the municipality of Tocancipá, Cundinamarca, where they demonstrated talent, discipline and sports commitment.

Seventeen athletes participated in this competition, proudly representing the Institution in all categories, achieving an outstanding result: 3 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 9 bronze medals, for a total of 16 medals.

Coach Jefferson David Gómez Díaz highlighted the effort and perseverance of the team on wheels, emphasizing that these achievements are the result of continuous preparation and the commitment of each athlete.

Among the individual results, the following stand out:

  • Hanna Sophia Forero Quintero, with 2 gold medals.
  • Isabella Quintana Rivera, with 1 gold medal.
  • Gabriela Contreras Montes, with 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal.
  • Juan Diego Ospina García, with 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.
  • Ronald Santiago Escamilla Arango, with 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medals.
  • Santiago Páez Sanabria, with 3 bronze medals.
  • Juan Martín Martínez Rincón, with 3 silver medals.

The coach also expressed his gratitude for the ongoing support of the parents and the coordinated work of the technical team led by Maribel Chala Castillo and Manuel Antonio Hernández, who strengthen the group's training and competitive process.

With these results, UCundinamarca reaffirms its commitment to sports and comprehensive education, promoting the talent that proudly competes in every event.
