This year, the Music program of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Political Sciences of the Zipaquirá extension carried out the Serenata por Cundinamarca virtually on June 5th through the Zoom platform and rebroadcast on the university's official Facebook page, with a learning component and virtual interaction with the public.
The Serenata por Cundinamarca is a cultural showcase to highlight the artistic products developed in the program; it is also an institutional event that aims to contribute through art to generate aesthetic needs, through musical expressions directed at the population that, due to its economic and social characteristics, does not have easy access to cultural activities.
The cultural event featured the presenter of the cultural event, who adapted his characterization to peasant, rocker, classical scholar and coastal.
The idea of personifying the presenter came from Maestro Oscar Herrera, who was the presenter, and with the Serenata por Cundinamarca production team he worked to redefine each of the characters in the four categories: Colombian music, rock and world music, classical music, and tropical music, with the purpose of adding dynamism to the event along with the interviews with the dean of the faculty and the program coordinator.
It is worth noting that the Music program leads one of the Cultural Learning Fields at the institutional level called "Serenata por Cundinamarca" and its learning purpose revolves around the rescue of the musical identity of each of the regions impacted by the University of Cundinamarca.
The “Serenade for Cundinamarca” began in 2018, coordinated with the programming and planning of some academic outings that are part of the academic work of the program and following the purposes of the cultural learning field.
Since its inception, the Music program has generated academic and artistic spaces, among which the work of its soloists and institutional groups at the national and international level stands out.
