On May 25th, the musical event was held at the Bicentennial Theater of Zipaquirá, attended by around 300 people including students, teachers and the community of the Roberto Macdouall High School.
“What we want with these musical encounters is for students to practice what they have learned, to somehow experience what their life as professionals will be like, and at the same time achieve a cultural exchange with the community of the municipality,” said Santiago Tamayo, vocal technique teacher of the Music program at UCundinamarca.
It's worth noting that this is the musicians' second stage performance of 2022, following their first on May 18th, after a difficult period during the pandemic when all venues were closed. "It's a real pleasure for us as musicians to be back on stage after such a challenging time when we couldn't experience music in its true form," added Maestro Tamayo.
The event is part of the University's Cultural Learning Field "Serenata por Cundinamarca", and as part of the new strategies being implemented regarding social outreach and cultural exchange at UDEC.
“We are grateful for this space, where the doors will always be open for the entire community to participate and learn about the projects we have been developing through the University's Music program. This is a demonstration of musical language for the neighboring community,” the maestro concluded.
