Science and innovation projects are awarded prizes in Ubaté

On October 25, the UCundinamarca-Generation 21st Century Projects Gala was held.

The Projects Gala at the Ubaté branch recognized outstanding projects that generate knowledge. This event serves as a forum for discussion and dissemination, showcasing contributions toward achieving the institution's goals.

As knowledge managers, the University of Cundinamarca opens this space in the Ubaté branch as a strengthening, integral development of the personality, the potential of the human being in the different disciplines of the academic community.

On October 25th, the Projects Gala took place, in which the best projects in the different categories were awarded, as follows:

  • Classroom projects: Andrés Felipe Cristancho Arévalo, a Systems Engineering student from the Chía Extension, won first place with the project “Educational video game as an educational strategy for raising awareness about the symptoms of mental disorders: schizophrenia, insomnia and anxiety.”.
  • Second place was awarded to the Garden of Eden project directed by Dr. Norha Isabelina Castillo and the students of the accounting research seminar, Luisa Fernanda Rincón and Maritza Andrea González from the public accounting program of the Ubaté branch.
  • Pprojects research: Classroom training exercises, progress on institutionally endorsed projects, research groups, etc. In this category, the project that won first place was “Virtual reality simulator for training in oral hygiene in the field of dentistry through the use of Oculus Rift virtual reality glasses – SIMUDOLOGO” carried out by students Jorge Luis Roncancio Turriago and Jason Ricardo Pinzon Villamil from the INVENSOFT research group directed by the teacher: Edison Gustavo Cañon Varela from the Chía extension.
    Second place went to the project “The ”ihorse“ equine cardiac measurement system developed by the Creinng Seedbed, made up of students Duvan Andres Espitia and Yeimi Johana Lancheros from the Systems Engineering program at the Ubaté branch, took third place. The third place went to students Jimmy Muñoz and David Valdes from the INVENSOFT seedbed, led by teacher Edison Cañon from the Chía extension, with their project ”Augmented reality application for the development of chemistry experiments as a support tool in teaching the types of reactions according to the organization of atoms, for ninth grade of high school.”
  • Teaching category. Academic experiences around MEDIT: In this project, teachers showcase their experiences in multidimensional spaces, demonstrating their participation in the consolidation process of the Transmodern Digital Educational Model. The winning project was “Development of transdisciplinary actions for negotiation as a field of learning,” developed by teacher Daniel Humberto Arévalo from the Public Accounting program at the Ubaté campus.
