The offer includes 40 scholarships for undergraduate, master's or doctoral studies in areas of the Orange Economy and 30 scholarships for master's and doctoral studies in different areas.
Tunja, January 10, 2010. The national government has opened the application process for Colombians from any region of the country to access 70 higher education scholarships in China for undergraduate or postgraduate studies starting in 2020.
Twenty of the scholarships are for undergraduate programs, ten for master's programs, and ten for doctoral programs focused on studies related to the Orange Economy, and a further thirty are for master's and doctoral programs in various fields. The academic programs are offered by universities in different cities across the Asian country.
Each of the 70 scholarships covers tuition, health insurance, accommodation, and a monthly stipend to help with living expenses. In addition, all scholarship recipients will receive a year of Mandarin language instruction in China, offered by the Chinese government.
Applications are now open and interested parties must submit their application before January 27, 2020 through the ICETEX website at www.icetex.gov.co, at the following link: https://portal.icetex.gov.co/Portal/Home/HomeEstudiante/becas/becas-para-estudios-en-el-exterior/becas-vigentes/.

Offer for studies in Orange Economy
Studies in Orange Economy fields include areas such as arts and design, urban planning, innovation, architecture and tourism, biology, agriculture, public health, environment, alternative energies, robotics, new materials and advanced manufacturing, among others.
Undergraduate
These are 20 scholarships for young people who must be between 15 and 25 years old, have a minimum score of 50 points on the Saber 11 test, and a minimum average of 7.5/10 or 3.7/5.0 accumulated in their grades between 9th and 11th grade. The studies will take place between September 2020 and September 2025.
Master's degrees
Ten scholarships will be awarded to Colombians between the ages of 22 and 35, with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.7/5.0 and preferably at least one year of professional experience (after obtaining their university degree) in the field of the academic program they wish to pursue. These studies will take place between September 2020 and September 2023.
Doctorates
Ten scholarships will be awarded to Colombians between the ages of 23 and 40 for this postgraduate level. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.7/5.0 in their master's degree and preferably more than one year of professional experience (after obtaining their undergraduate degree) in the doctoral field they wish to pursue. The studies will take place between September 2020 and September 2023.
Scholarships for different areas
Thirty scholarships will be awarded for master's or doctoral studies in various fields. For master's programs, this offer is aimed at professionals between 22 and 35 years old, and for doctoral programs, at professionals between 23 and 40 years old.
The minimum grade point average required for students interested in pursuing a master's degree is 3.7/5.0 in undergraduate studies. Professionals interested in pursuing a doctorate must have this same grade point average, but obtained at the master's level.
Studies in this postgraduate component in different areas will begin in September 2020. Master's programs will conclude in September 2023, and doctoral programs in September 2024.
