Scholarships in Canada for Colombians

University Canada West (UCW) is a private university located in Vancouver that focuses on business. Its programs include Business Administration, International Trade, Human Resources, Marketing, Leadership, and Management, among others.

The institution offers a limited number of scholarships for Colombians who wish to pursue undergraduate, graduate, or master's degrees there. These scholarships average 10,000 Canadian dollars (over 31 million Colombian pesos), which is equivalent to 60% of tuition.

To apply for the scholarships, you must do so through EdooConnect (click here), a platform dedicated to working on the migration and settlement in Canada of Latin citizens.

They provide assistance throughout the application process, including advising on the application, gathering academic documents, developing the letter of intent, and applying to the preferred program. The estimated response time to find out if the scholarship has been approved is one month.

“It’s important to know that after receiving the scholarship and enrolling at the university, the next step is the visa and temporary residency process as an international student. This can be for the individual or their family if they decide to come to this country accompanied. Processing times for the visa and residency range from 8 to 12 weeks,” EdooConnect reported.

According to figures provided by the platform, 99% of the applications submitted by Colombians have been accepted and they have received their scholarship.

The scholarships offered are for students starting their studies in January 2022, and it is recommended to begin the application process in August 2021. UCW's MBA program is among the best in Canada, and the university has 4,000 students from 90 different countries.
