The University of Cundinamarca deeply regrets the passing of Rosalba Rozo Caballero, a key figure in knowledge and learning management for the Systems and Computer Engineering program at the Fusagasugá campus. The rector, the administration, her faculty, and the entire university community extend their condolences and support to her family, colleagues, and friends.
Rosalba Rozo was recognized for her serenity, service, responsibility and integrity, qualities that especially marked her time at the institution and left a lasting impression on those who were fortunate enough to work and learn alongside her.
Óscar Fabián Sánchez Guzmán, a knowledge manager, fondly recalled that “Rosalbita was a wonderful woman. We could always count on her. She was supportive, offered advice, and was always there for her students.” He also highlighted the impact of her work on social interaction projects with senior citizens, where her dedication was a source of constant gratitude. “She leaves a huge void. I will miss her terribly; she greeted us with a smile every day.”.
Edna Faisuli Herrera Alonso, a classmate in the Basic Sciences and Systems Engineering program, said that Rosalba “was like a mother to everyone, teachers and students. She was dedicated, passionate, and cared for the well-being of the students.”.
He also recalled his commitment to supporting first-semester students, guiding them through their first weeks, and helping them navigate academic platforms and processes. “He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, effort, and dedication.”.
One of her closest colleagues also described her as a “kind, helpful, and demanding teacher, always committed to her students” learning and growth.“ For many, Rosalba was affectionately known as ”the mother of the freshmen,” due to her warmth, constant support, and guidance to those entering university life for the first time.
The university community bids a deeply sad farewell to a woman who dedicated her life to educating, supporting, and transforming through her example. Her legacy will live on in every student, faculty member, and project she touched with her work and her humanity.
