In Bogotá, Colciencias held the UK-Colombia integration workshop, an academic space that allowed scientists from Exeter State University to learn about the applied research projects of the Acacios and Guía group from the Business Administration and Environmental Engineering programs of the Girardot branch on environmental resilience issues in the Alto Magdalena province.
During the integration workshop, scientists from Exeter State University expressed interest in exploring complementary lines of research in the tropical dry forest of the Upper Magdalena province. The group of experts who visited the Girardot branch, specifically the Agua Blanca village on the road to El Arbolito, included Dr. Dunía Urrego, a research professor at Exeter University, and postdoctoral students Felipe Franco and Julieth Serrano. Also present from the University were the branch's administrative director, Juan Carlos Méndez Forero, and research professors Darío Benavides, Jack Frank García, and Wesles Sedano.

Once the exploratory phase was completed, the researchers concluded that there was a possibility of harmonizing scientific work between the University of Cundinamarca, the National University of Colombia, and the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom for more direct intervention and joint presentation of applied research projects.
The participation in the integration workshop is due to the fact that the Acacios and Guía research group participated in call 802 opened by the Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation, where the Udecino researchers were eligible to be financed, based on this achievement they were invited by the researchers of the University of Exeter to jointly present a project with them in call 828 that Colciencias recently opened.
