Next Monday, October 3, at 9 am, the University of Cundinamarca invites you to the Public Hearing: Meeting of Regional Universities: for Budgetary Equity in Higher Education.”, whose objective is to request a fairer distribution for the allocation of resources to the country's public universities, as emphasized by Rector Adriano Muñoz Barrera.

The UCundinamarca, with the support of Representative Alexandra Vásquez, invited the 33 rectors, administrative vice-rectors, planning directors, student and faculty representatives of the State University System, SUE, to carry out this meeting which will take place in the Boyacá Hall of the Congress of the Republic. This space is based on compliance with the sentence C-346/21 which establishes that the appropriations of the universities must be assigned through the General Budget of the Nation (PGN) by the Congress of the Republic and not by the Ministry of National Education – MEN, also stipulated that the realization of the democratic principle will give greater clarity and transparency in the distribution of resources, impacting the equitable distribution over all public universities in the country.

Taking into account the project filed in the Fourth Committee of the Senate of the Republic and the House of Representatives, there is evidence of possible non-compliance with the sentence for two reasons:

1. Investment resources are not included for all departmental universities.

2. Resources are distributed without regard to equity, as established by the Court in the ruling C-315/21 and in the same ruling C346/21.
