The research talent of the Opportunity Creators continues to shine in high-level academic settings. This time, David Rico Olarte, a fourth-semester student in the Psychology program at the Facatativá campus and a member of the NEURPSICDEC research group, achieved outstanding participation in the XXIV Regional Meeting and I International Meeting of Research Groups REDCOLSI Bogotá-Cundinamarca Node 2026, held in Bogotá on May 12 and 13.

Thanks to the results obtained, the student received the endorsement to represent the University of Cundinamarca at the National and International Meeting of Research Seedbeds (ENISI) 2026, which will take place from October 7 to 10, 2026 in the city of Montería.

David participated with the research project entitled “Beyond Grammar: Emotional, Motivational and Pedagogical Factors in the Development of Orality in English in University Opportunity Creators”, a proposal that seeks to understand how different emotional and educational aspects influence learning and communication in a second language.

For the student, this experience represented a valuable opportunity for academic and personal growth. “It was very enriching; sharing with classmates from the University of Cundinamarca and with students from other institutions in the country allowed me to learn about new ideas, innovative projects, and different ways of conducting research. Furthermore, we received very professional feedback from the evaluators, which strengthens our learning process,” he stated.

During the meeting, researchers in training from various regions exchanged knowledge, experiences and methodologies, consolidating academic networks that strengthen research as a tool for social and educational transformation.

For her part, Maricel Barrera Patiño, Knowledge and Learning Manager and project leader, highlighted the importance of these spaces for developing research skills. “This was a collaborative academic experience that facilitated the exchange of knowledge with researchers from across the country. I also want to emphasize the responsibility, effort, and dedication demonstrated by our students, who represent the institution with excellence,” she noted.

David Rico Olarte's qualification for ENISI 2026 reflects the commitment of the University of Cundinamarca to strengthening the research culture and generating relevant knowledge to respond to the current challenges of society.

From the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT), these experiences allow Opportunity Creators to learn from research, dialogue of knowledge and the collective construction of knowledge, strengthening their ability to understand reality, transform their environment and contribute solutions with impact on the territories and on the life of the communities.
