The University of Cundinamarca celebrates another international achievement with Johana Catherin Prado Capera, a 2022 graduate of the Psychology program, who earned a full scholarship for the Master's Degree in Clinical Neuropsychology at the prestigious International University of Valencia, Spain. This international recognition confirms the academic excellence of the University of Cundinamarca and the high level of training its students receive, positioning the institution on the global educational stage.

During her studies, Johana distinguished herself through her exceptional commitment and dedication. Her thesis, "Design of a prototype for olfactory measurement. Phase one, technical functionality test," received a meritorious grade from the Faculty Council of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Political Science.

The project transcended the classroom and achieved national and international recognition, winning an award at the RedCOLSI National and International Meeting of Research Seedbeds. Johana's research led to the publication of an article in the journal Psycoespacios of the University Institution of Envigado, demonstrating the scientific rigor of her work.

“When I started in the Neurpsidec research group in 2019, along with Ingrid Geraldine Zamora Cañón, I didn't imagine the impact it would have on my career,” said the graduate, highlighting international collaborations with the Technological Institute of Tizimín in Mexico.

Institutional pride

“It’s an honor to represent the university abroad and show that the education we receive at UCundinamarca is of high quality and competes globally,” Johana stated. The psychologist emphasized that this scholarship makes “a dream that seemed unattainable, but with constant effort and dedication, it has finally become a reality.”.

Rafael Leonardo Cortés Lugo, coordinator of the Psychology program, highlighted that Johana “demonstrated exceptional understanding of her field of study, rigor in her approach, and remarkable analytical skills.” The Knowledge and Learning Manager highly recommended her for future academic and professional endeavors, emphasizing her well-rounded preparation.

Johana encourages current students to "be passionate about research," demonstrating that projects can evolve from initial ideas to internationally recognized initiatives. Her experience highlights the opportunities that UCundinamarca offers for developing high-level research skills.

This achievement reaffirms the institution's commitment to training professionals capable of contributing to science, innovation, and social development globally. UCundinamarca continues to solidify its position as a leader in higher education, preparing internationally competitive graduates.
