For a more accessible and equitable institution

In order to eliminate barriers related to disability and difference, the University of Cundinamarca, in its mission to implement an inclusive education policy, will loan canes, wheelchairs, and crutches to students, faculty, and staff. Those interested in accessing this service can do so through the Equity & Diversity area, in conjunction with the Office of University Welfare and its coordinators in each Regional Unit, by submitting a request via email. [email protected] .

With the acquisition of these technical aids for the movement of people with physical and visual disabilities, the aim is to reduce the existing access barriers in the different academic spaces inside and outside the institution, facilitating mobility and contributing to the development of the educational processes of students and the work activities of teachers and administrative staff, who require them due to physical or sensory conditions.

The initiative, led by the Academic Vice-Rector's Office, through the Equity & Diversity area, has been implemented with resources from the investment project: "Strengthening Inclusion, Diversity and Equity at the University of Cundinamarca", being part of the actions planned for 2021.

Finally, it is worth noting that the various strategies proposed in this policy will promote affirmative action, recognized as promotional, planning, and implementation activities aimed at reducing contextual barriers. These measures will facilitate access, retention, relevance, quality, and graduation for all students who require support, fostering a more just, equitable, and diverse university.

The University of Cundinamarca has already distributed the technical aids to the headquarters, branches and extensions as follows:
