The Speed Skating team of the UCundinamarca Club once again demonstrated their talent and discipline on the tracks at the 1st School Festival 2027, held on August 9 in Mosquera, Cundinamarca, where eight athletes represented the Institution in the Minor and Transition, Professional Skate, and Non-Advanced categories.

The result was outstanding: 10 medals, of which 8 were gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze, an achievement that also allowed the team to claim the club championship title.

Coach Maribel Chala Castillo highlighted the skaters“ performance and emphasized the commitment shown during each competition. ”They gave it their all on the track; this demonstrates the talent, discipline, and dedication of our athletes," the coach pointed out.

The competition brought together more than 450 athletes from different regions of the country, becoming a stage for competition and learning for young skaters, who had the opportunity to measure their abilities and continue strengthening their sports experience.

Beyond the medals, the participation also helped strengthen teamwork and the bonds between athletes, coaches, and families. According to the coach, the support of the parents was essential to achieving this result and continuing to consolidate a committed sports community. “That support is key to continuing to grow as a community and to showcasing the quality of our athletes and coaches in this discipline that fills our University of Cundinamarca with pride,” Chala Castillo emphasized.

With this result, the UCundinamarca Speed Skating team continues to uphold the name of the Institution and demonstrate that discipline, effort, and teamwork are the path to achieving great results on and off the track.
