The Provider Bank is a list of entities whose training proposals allow the Ministry to have a portfolio of diplomas aimed at rural educators within the framework of the "Support Program for the Improvement of Educational Trajectories in targeted rural areas".
Bogotá DC, June 21, 2021.
In order to continue offering continuing education opportunities, the Ministry of Education has opened a Call for Proposals aimed at creating a Bank of Providers, which seeks to establish a list of entities with training proposals (diplomas) aimed at rural educators and rural ethno-educators in the country, within the framework of the 'Support Program for the Improvement of Educational Trajectories in targeted rural areas'.
To achieve this objective, until July 6, Higher Education Institutions, national or international organizations with experience in education and/or training of rural Teachers and Managers and Ethno-educators may participate to be part of the Bank of Providers of diplomas for continuing education, presenting their proposals for the design and development of diplomas aimed at rural educators.
Among the proposals that can be presented are: inclusion and equity, pedagogical and curricular strategies, school management, flexible models, pedagogical use of media and ICT-mediated teaching methods, pedagogical environments for inclusive early childhood education, Intercultural Educational Projects, citizenship and systematization of educational experiences.
The Minister of Education, María Victoria Angulo, explained that in the current model of a gradual return to classrooms in person and on an alternating basis, Continuing Education seeks to respond to the professional and personal development aspirations of educators in rural contexts to improve their pedagogical practice, promote the learning of children, adolescents and young people and strengthen Educational Institutions in their contexts.
“These scenarios focus on the professional development of educators to recognize their leadership in renewal and social change, enhancing their skills and abilities to enrich their pedagogical practices through research, innovation and inclusion,” said Minister Angulo.
This teamwork to positively impact the territories represents the fulfillment of the commitment of President Iván Duque's Government to the key actors to advance in an inclusive, relevant, equitable and quality education.
In this process, it is a priority for the Ministry to form the Bank of Institutions offering Continuing Education programs such as Diplomas, aimed at Teachers, School Managers and Ethno-educators in service in official educational establishments, located in rural and dispersed rural municipalities or in the rural areas of intermediate municipalities, cities and agglomerations of the country.
