The Academic Sports Center (CAD) of the University of Cundinamarca has begun training for its new volleyball school, a discipline that has been added to the institutional sports offerings, with the aim of expanding coverage and forming representative teams at the municipal and/or departmental level in its various categories.
The team has categories from 8 years old up to the single senior category: Benjamin (2016 – 2015), Mini Volleyball (2014 – 2013), Under 13 (2012), Children (2011 – 2010), Minors (2009 – 2008), Youth (2007 – 2006), and Seniors (Open).
Brandon Esteven Álvarez Gómez, the coach of the discipline, explained that the training sessions take place from Monday to Friday at the facilities of the CAD Sports Academic Center, and include physical strengthening exercises and injury prevention, thanks to the support of the gym that the center has.
“We are preparing to compete at the departmental and national levels. We want to form strong teams in each category and open opportunities for new talent,” said Álvarez Gómez, who also extended the invitation to children, young people, and adults who wish to join this initiative.
The school is open to the entire community, from age 8 and up. For more information, people can visit the CAD Academic Sports Center, located in the Piedra Grande neighborhood of Fusagasugá (formerly Cercun), or call 315 862 5072.
