“This building that we are presenting today to everyone here, to the community in general of the municipality of Zipaquirá and the Sabana Centro region, and to those who are surely watching us on social media, is nothing more than a manifestation of the respect and commitment to people promoted by the Transmodern Digital Educational Model, Medit, which the University of Cundinamarca adopts in all its dimensions. It is necessary to mention that this reality is achieved after several efforts by the University of Cundinamarca's leadership with the municipal governments,” stated Dr. Myriam Lucía Sánchez, Vice-Rector of Administration and Finance at UCundinamarca.
“Breathing in this new scent awakens the best feeling, satisfaction and a desire to continue working for the well-being of an entire community in order to strengthen access to public higher education in the territory,” added the institution's senior management.
For his part, City Council President Pablo Alberto Gualteros stated in his address: “We are gathered here to announce that this campus is now a reality. It will benefit 225 students from various programs, and it is interesting to hear about the work the university has been doing with the Ministry in obtaining accreditation for its Psychology, Spanish, and English programs.”.
“We, as a university, and the entire management team present here, are pleased to reaffirm our commitment to collaborative work in building this space. We face new challenges in the coming months, and above all, we continue our historic journey of strengthening higher education through programs relevant to the needs of the region and the central zone, and particularly the residents of Zipaquirá,” stated Carlos Augusto Trujillo, director of the Chía extension.
