While pursuing her dream, Angelica Ramirez discovers that there are different ways to love, such as helping other people, making many happy, teaching and enchanting those who see her with her art.
This young woman is a graduate of the Music program at UCundinamarca and although she dreams of being a singer, life has led her through other experiences that have allowed her to grow more as a person, as a professional and continue projecting herself as a great professional.
“I studied music because I want to be a solo singer, however, in Colombia most artists end up in teaching, that's not bad and I've done it too, but it's not what drives me,” explained Angélica and recalled how after graduating from UCundinamarca she worked in a school and a university where she directed the Pop group, the Rock group and the choir, an experience that helped her grow.
Currently, this music teacher carries out various social and cultural projects, one of which is working with senior citizens and another is a big dream that brings together several young people in Zipaquirá.
United by a dream
In the style of Broadway or Disney, around 12 young people from Zipaquirá joined together in a project called Visión Arte and since 2016 they have been doing live shows in which they act, dance and sing. "It is a very original production and it is definitely worth seeing, we always perform at the MCI Auditorium," said the graduate.
This great professional and artistic challenge was proposed by Felipe Vanegas, a visionary who, after seeing the great talent of Angélica and other young people who, like them, attend the Christian Charismatic Mission Church, "one day just told us that we would make our first musical, he summoned us and since then we have worked together," Angélica recalled.
“This experience has been wonderful on my journey as an artist. I’ve been able to overcome the shyness I felt on stage, I’ve put into practice what I learned at university, and working with my colleagues is the best thing for my growth as an artist,” the artist explained.
Serving with love
Working at the Nazaret Geriatric Home in Zipaquirá began as a way to earn a living, but it ended up filling Angélica's heart and leading her to work for the well-being of the elderly through the development of projects.
“We’ve done a wonderful job. We’ve revived culture, music, and theater in the home, and we see how much joy it brings to the elderly. I came here because I wanted to have this experience, because here I earn the money I need to build my dream, but without a doubt, it’s one of the best experiences,” said the graduate.
The dream of life
Her training and dedication enhance her talent; Angélica wants to be a singer and fights for this dream every day. “My lifestyle habits are geared towards that future; exercising, for example, helps me rest and relax, but it also contributes to my image,” explained the music teacher from UCundinamarca.
Every step he takes is with the firm belief that one day he will achieve his dream; he works to achieve it and knows that he has the talent and discipline.
