The institution is in mourning for the unexpected departure of student Nelson Camilo Reyes Poveda from the Agronomic Engineering program at the Facatativá extension.
The rector, the institution's leadership, faculty, classmates, and friends of Nelson Camilo extend their heartfelt condolences to his family and friends, offering them comfort and guidance during this difficult time. This young man, full of dreams, left this world too soon, but his legacy will live on. “Nelson was an excellent student, deeply committed to his studies and with a strong sense of responsibility for rural development.
”Sometimes he would get a little carried away with his opinions in class, and we had to remind him, but then he would talk to you, ask for extra information, research the topics that interested him regarding the agronomic management of crops, and that enriched the conversation,” recalled teacher Diego Hernández, who lamented the passing of Nelson Camilo.
Likewise, the program will remember him as a lover of shade-grown coffee, since his family produced it on a small plot in Supatá, and because he was so interested, “he would ask how he could apply his knowledge of plant physiology to improve production. That's why he really liked implementing what he learned in class in the fields, and he was very insightful in his analyses.” The young man wanted to be part of one of the research groups at UCundinamarca.
Daniela Correa, one of his classmates and friends, expressed the profound sorrow left by the loss: “Camilo was a serious person, with a firm gaze, but a big and noble heart. He left us memories that we will carry forever in our hearts; he will live on there, because you never forget someone who leaves a mark, and each of us has something to remember him by. God gave us memory so that we don't forget those we loved and appreciated.”.
In a posthumous tribute, the student thanked Nelson Camilo for the lessons learned, the moments shared, and the lasting impact he had as a friend. Faculty members from the Agronomic Engineering Program also expressed their sadness at this unexpected news.
Peace be upon him
