More music for everyone

Providing specialized, high-quality education that is affordable to an increasing number of people has become one of the main goals of the University of Cundinamarca. To this end, and in line with this objective, the institution has created an offer of continuing education that is within everyone's reach.

In the music section, it offers open courses and diplomas structured in such a way that its training does not require any technical prerequisites or specialized prior preparation on the part of the students.

The offer includes:

• Music training course

Registration deadline: March 12, 2022.
Start date: April 15, 2022.

• Training course in music theory
Also aimed at the general public, it contributes to the development of the musical training process of students in the region, both those who aspire to a higher musical education and those who consider it non-formal knowledge.
Registration deadline: March 12, 2002.
Classes begin: April 13, 2022.

• Musical Instrument Training Course
It aims to develop the physical, conceptual, attitudinal and technical skills of people for the basic execution of plucked and bowed string instruments; winds, wood and brass; singing; piano and percussion.
Registration deadline: March 11, 2022.
Start date: March 14, 2022.

Inclusive higher music education
Starting next semester, the Music Program at the University of Cundinamarca will offer two open diploma courses, one in musical creation and the other in musical production.
• Diploma in musical creation and musical arrangements for everyone
Aimed at students and graduates from any area with basic knowledge of music and basic handling of an instrument in which they want to advance, from arrangements, on the path of musical creation.
Registration deadline: March 31, 2022.
Diploma course begins: April 31, 2022.

• Diploma in Music Production: From Idea to Song!
Created for music students, self-taught musicians, employees or freelancers with basic knowledge, it aims to provide various musical and technological resources to turn a small idea into a professional musical production, based on technology as the main tool for stimulating creativity.
Registration deadline: March 31, 2022.
Start date: April 31, 2022.

Because the purpose of the University of Cundinamarca is to offer a comprehensive education, all of this academic offering of the Music Program is accessible to children, youth, adults and senior citizens.

Likewise, and as the University of Cundinamarca has set out to offer this continuing education program to provide high-quality musical training, all professors have postgraduate degrees and specializations.

The courses and diplomas are offered in a virtual format ('online classes'), although in some cases, and with prior agreement with the students, certain classes may be taken in person.

The University of Cundinamarca currently has a branch in Zipaquirá for its Music Program and is building another one that will house, in addition to the musical programs, other continuing education programs.
