Dear colleagues:

Long before having the honor of being the president of the University of Cundinamarca, and as I have expressed in various documents, my concern for education and my commitment to Cundinamarca have been a constant.

In the master plans I have stated how, in the present century, the translocal public University, always autonomous, is more relevant than ever.

This institution represents a social organization of knowledge and learning that must respond to the needs of the Cundinamarca territory and guarantee the survival of human beings.

This is a dream shared with you, the university community, giving rise to the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT), whose purpose is to form a transhuman person, for life, democratic values, civility, and freedom.

The implementation of the MEDIT educational model was accompanied by the strategic plan “Designing the University We Want 2016-2026” and the respective development plans that have guided the transformation of the University of Cundinamarca.

Therefore, the idea arose to publish this book: “The Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT), a response to 21st century education”, which is a compendium of strategic documents that I have written.

Currently, these documents form the basis of the policies and guidelines that have resulted from the co-creation and collaboration of the university community, to whom I am deeply grateful.

The foregoing implies that the great challenge of implementing and validating the MEDIT continues, along with evaluating its impact and specifying the contribution of this regional public university in the department of Cundinamarca.
