“We spent four days with entrepreneurs and students from different majors, supporting the idea that emerged in the business administration program of the Ubaté branch, which invited the community to think about innovation projects for local organizations in a global scenario with emphasis on individual initiatives projected towards the good of the community,” explains Fabián Leal, director of the Dialogando con el Mundo office.
Elizabeth Burgos, a teacher at Washington Liberty School in Virginia, USA, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to share knowledge that enabled students and entrepreneurs to strengthen their understanding of social innovation. “It was a very enriching experience in which we all identified needs and ways to address them,” she said.
“We are convinced that, to foster greater visibility of the knowledge generated at the University, recognition among ourselves is essential in our educational work. This undoubtedly strengthens the link between the community, university academic practice, and research,” stated Johanna Gil, coordinator of the Business Administration program at the Ubaté branch.
It is worth noting that these activities strengthen the fields of learning, forming links between students and regional entrepreneurs so that, through practical exercise, they can carry out processes of creation, implementation and dissemination of new social practices in innovative areas.
The event was organized by the Business Administration program of the Ubaté branch and the Dialoguing with the World Office, held from November 7 to 10, 2019.
