Language Day at UCundinamarca
The English program for cross-curricular areas at the Girardot branch held the “Bilingual Singing Experience”, led by Business Administration and Nursing students with Professor Lorena Ortiz Cardozo.
The activity featured the participation of Mhairi Christina Shilton and Alexa Charlotte from England, Anne Berners from Germany, and Caterina Zischke from the United States, all English speakers, who were invited to interact with the UCundinamarca community in both English and Spanish. This learning environment, different from the classroom, encouraged students to overcome their fear of communicating in another language through musical expression. They sang Colombian folk songs in English, including vallenato and bolero rhythms, as well as internationally known songs in other languages.
