For the third consecutive year, the Ubaté branch brought together the best exponents of Latin American folklore at the Third International Folk Dance Meeting held on September 8th in the University auditorium.
The Encounter featured a select group of dance groups representing countries such as Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, and Colombia. Our country presented a great display of talent and discipline from the departments of Atlántico, Santander, San José del Guaviare, Antioquia, Tolima, Valle del Cauca, and Cundinamarca.
Representing Mexico were dance groups from the states of Sotavento Veracruz, Jalisco, Chihuahua, Aztecas and the members of the XI International Dance Festival for couples Danza Luna.
This event had the challenge of fostering integration among students, as well as rescuing the values and artistic traditions of Colombian and Latin American folk dance in order to contribute to building the social fabric through culture.
It is worth noting that the dance event was led by the University Welfare Office and other collaborators from the branch and the municipality of Ubaté.
