Registration for Saber Pro and TyT 2026 tests

The Colombian Institute for the Evaluation of Education (Icfes) announced the opening of the pre-registration process for the Saber Pro, Saber TyT tests and their modalities abroad, corresponding to the first semester of 2026.

Pre-registration will be open until Friday, February 6, and must be completed by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that offer professional, technical, and technological programs. This step is essential for students to be able to take the exam on Sunday, April 26, 2026, using the paper-and-pencil format on-site.

The tests are aimed at students who have completed at least 75% of the credits of their academic program, who must take the exam as a mandatory requirement to obtain their degree.

Key dates in the process

  • Registration and ordinary collection: until Friday, February 6.
  • Extraordinary registration and collection: From Monday, February 9th to Friday, February 20th.
  • Publication of citations: Friday, April 10.
  • Certificates of attendance and individual results: available from Monday, May 18.
  • Official publication of results: starting Friday, August 14th in www.icfes.gov.co.

What do the tests evaluate?

The Saber Pro and TyT tests measure generic skills such as:

  • Quantitative reasoning
  • Written communication
  • Critical reading
  • Civic competencies
  • English

In addition, some programs include a specific mandatory test, depending on the area of training.

The Saber Pro exam, in addition to being a graduation requirement, allows for the evaluation of the quality of higher education in the country and provides key information for students, institutions, and the formulation of educational public policies. The Saber TyT exam, on the other hand, is geared toward students in technical and technological programs and serves the same function as a graduation requirement.
