The University of Cundinamarca launched the Innovation HUB, an initiative of the Digital Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business Management (CDEI), which seeks to strengthen creativity, collaborative work and the application of emerging technologies.
This space was inaugurated simultaneously in the Regional Units of Fusagasugá, Facatativá, Girardot, Soacha and Ubaté, in a technological day where students and teachers learned about the scope of these tools for the development of projects with real impact in their regions.
“The Innovation HUB links professional training with the needs of the environment. Its purpose is to train entrepreneurs with disruptive solutions, aligned with regional development and the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT)”,” said Miguel Alejandro Flechas Montaño, dean of the Faculty of Administrative, Economic and Accounting Sciences.
According to the dean, this strategy is developed in four phases: ideation, 3D prototyping, augmented reality and networking, allowing students and graduates to formulate high-impact proposals from the university as a social organization of knowledge.
For his part, Javier Fernando Pinzón Castañeda, leader of the Digital Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Business Management (CDEI), emphasized that this space is designed to provide access to innovation tools for both internal and external entrepreneurs associated with the CDEI. “Our goal is to make cutting-edge technology, disruptive methodologies, and engaging elements like board games geared toward ideation and creativity available to the community, enabling them to generate new entrepreneurial ideas or strengthen those already under development,” he stated.
In addition, Jonathan Córdoba Fontecha, coordinator of the Agronomic Engineering program at the Fusagasugá campus, highlighted that a pilot irrigation system is being developed using 3D printing to evaluate the best agronomic design in the face of climate change, combining innovation with sustainability.
This initiative is led by the Digital Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business Management (CDEI) of the Faculty of Administrative, Economic and Accounting Sciences, and will be available for use by the various academic programs in all the University's campuses, extensions and branches.
The Innovation HUB is consolidating itself, as well as a space that promotes academic transformation, entrepreneurship and technological development in Cundinamarca.
