Induction day in Fusagasugá

Around 360 students participated in the orientation session held at the Fusagasugá campus, in the Emilio Sierra Baquero auditorium. “We are an institution that believes in professional development in partnership with families; therefore, not only students but also their parents participate in the orientation, and they are informed about the guidelines, challenges, and pedagogical model,” stated Catherine Sarmiento, psychologist at the University Welfare Office.

“On behalf of the administration of the University of Cundinamarca, the Rector, Adriano Muñoz Barrera, and myself, we welcome the entire university community, and in particular the students joining this institution for the first time. It is a great pleasure for us to know that in this educational process we can share common objectives and goals, with one certainty: to provide you with a quality education and the human development that society has entrusted to us,” said Academic Vice-Rector Pablo E. Flórez during the orientation session.

“In this second period of 2019, we continue preparing to achieve high institutional quality registration, a purpose for which we require the decisive support of you, the students of the 21st century generation, the reason for our mission,” he added.

The essence of the University of Cundinamarca is to train people with democratic values for life, so that concepts such as – for example – respect for the dignity of the person, care for the environment, family, recognition of merit, the spirit of service and order, are present in the institutional and daily work.

“We have celebrated 50 years since our founding, experiencing growth that has various dimensions and has been evolving in a balanced way in terms of academic development, infrastructure, research, postgraduate studies, training and various actions that are transformed daily in order to continue enhancing the talent of the 21st century generation,” the representative of the Institution's Senior Management pointed out.
