The Sports and Recreation Institute of Fusagasugá – IDERF granted sports recognition to the UCundinamarca Sports Club, for complying with the legal requirements that Sports Clubs and Promoters must have for their operation.
The sports recognition given to the Club for a term of five years allows it to be part of the National Sports System, under the inspection, control and surveillance of Coldeportes, Leagues and Sports Federations.
The UCundinamarca Sports Club was created with a focus on training, academics, research, athletic performance, and the well-being of the University community, as well as providing recreation for children and young people in the region. The Sports Club operates within the Academic Sports Center (CAD), a facility that includes two (2) soccer stadiums, two (2) auxiliary soccer fields, nine (9) tennis courts, a skating rink, two (2) athletic tracks, three (3) swimming pools, a coliseum for basketball, volleyball, and futsal, four (4) alternate basketball courts, two (2) alternate volleyball courts, a sand volleyball court, a futsal court, a multi-gym, a physiology laboratory, and an outdoor gym.
The main purpose of the Sports Club is the training and development of athletes in different sports disciplines, the promotion, development and organization of sports, training and competitive activities, the signing of agreements, articulation with professional sports clubs, organization of competitions, sports events in the educational sector and the affiliation and participation of Leagues and Federations.
The Club is made up of affiliated athletes who are part of the University such as students, graduates, professors, officials and/or administrative staff, directors and children and young athletes who join the club in any of its categories and sports disciplines.
