BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM – UBATE BRANCH RECEIVES VISIT FROM ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING STUDENT FROM GIRARDOT

(SOCIAL OUTREACH - REGIONAL INNOVATION CLUSTER)

The Project Formulation thematic core of the Business Administration program, Ubaté branch, and the Zero Distance Regional Innovation Cluster, in a social outreach process, are currently working with the association of miners from the Guachetá highlands. On September 18th, they received a visit from an Environmental Engineering student from the Girardot branch (Juan David Ramirez), who conducted a reconnaissance visit to support the project proposal. Students (Yanira Charary, Nelsy Gómez, Yonathan Cristancho, and Sebastian Villamil) from the Ubaté branch intend to use this project to address the problems raised by the association related to the environmental impacts of the current stockpiling operations in this municipality of the Ubaté Province.

As a result of the visit, a collaborative design of an Environmental Management System is proposed between the Business Administration (Ubaté) and Environmental Engineering (Girardot) programs. This work is being managed by Sandra Milena Melo Perdomo, a faculty member and research leader in the program.
