“I reaffirmed that I did learn during my career.”

The nerves she felt on the day of the test and the anxiety for everything to go well did not cloud Jeimy Lorena Rodríguez Aguilar's thinking, and she managed to answer each and every question of the State Exam for Quality in Higher Education in September 2020.

Months later, the results arrived and she realized that discipline and dedication had paid off. Jeimy Lorena, a graduate of the Public Accounting program at UCundinamarca Fusagasugá, obtained the highest score on the State of Quality of Higher Education exam in the Specific and Generic Competencies tests.

“My dad saw how nervous I was and encouraged me, saying that everything would be alright, and it was. My parents have a lot of faith in me because they see my dedication to my studies,” said Lorena, recalling that upon finishing high school she also obtained a high score on the ICFES test, so this type of result was not new to her, but it was very gratifying.

“I was surprised to see that high score, it reaffirmed that I had learned in my career and although a test does not determine that, for me it is enough to know that it was not in vain to have studied,” said the 22-year-old.

The graduate fondly remembers UCundinamarca and the professors who guided her during her studies. She also explained that the practical exercises were key to her learning and that she was able to achieve these results thanks to the professors' training. "They gave us talks, workshops, and even a mock exam, which helped a lot when it came to taking the test. At that moment, I was the only one there, and I had to answer it based on what I had in my head, on what I actually knew," the graduate said.

Planning the future

Lorena followed in the footsteps of her proud father, an accountant who supported her throughout her life and waited for her to decide what to study, but fortunately for him, a few months ago she graduated as a Public Accountant from UCundinamarca and also with this great recognition.

The graduate continues to dream and hopes that she will soon be able to save enough to pursue a postgraduate degree. She is still enjoying her job and the help she gives to her parents. "With this pandemic, many plans have changed, however, I hope to continue preparing myself.".

The graduate concluded that thanks to the education she received at UCundinamarca, it was a preparation for life, and today she sees the world differently, with a social projection, for service to the community, and perhaps later she will focus on teaching. "Before leaving the University, one can already see the world more realistically, as it is.".
