On September 1st, in the main auditorium of the Zipaquirá extension, recognition was given to the hard work of the educational community to achieve this accomplishment that benefits us all.
In this way, a commemorative plaque was presented by Rector Adriano Muñoz Barrera. “This is a great step that responds to the accelerated pace of society today, contributing to the educational development of our communities. Today we celebrate the work of the Music program, which, along with the Electronic Engineering, Social Sciences, and Animal Science programs, lays the foundation for UCundinamarca's consolidation as a center of high-quality education,” the university official emphasized.
It is worth noting that the Music program has been strengthened by the formation of musical groups that have significantly represented the institution on important musical and academic stages at the national and international level, such as the Symphony Orchestra, the Big Band, among others.
“It has been a sum of efforts, with the contribution of our students and teachers, in addition to having new and better tools, more technology, work and research, greater preparation and the recognition of our graduates that has allowed us to achieve this,” said the program coordinator Juan Manuel Urrego.
For now, the goal is to maintain this level of educational quality. “Reaching the goal isn't just about getting there, but staying there; that's the challenge now. A second stage is coming, in which we hope that programs like Agronomy in Fusagasugá; Nursing in Girardot; Industrial Engineering in Soacha; Systems Engineering in Chía; Business Administration in Facatativá, among others, will achieve this level,” the Rector stated.
Also participating in the event were the Academic Vice-Rector, Dr. Víctor Hugo Londoño, the Acting Dean, Dr. Claudia Urazán, and other university officials. The event concluded with a performance by the Tropical Orchestra of the University of Cundinamarca.
