This research began in the classrooms of a school in the municipality of Tocancipá, where she is a teacher. It was there that she created the clarinet instruction booklet.
It is worth noting that this material was rated as meritorious by the jury that evaluated the degree thesis.
Generation 21st Century Magazine She spoke with Paula Valentina, who had just graduated on September 6, about the process of creating this important educational resource.
Generation 21st Century Magazine: How did this degree project come about?
Paula Valentina Castelblanco: This work stemmed from my experience as a music teacher at the Tocancipá School of Music. There, I observed that students had deficiencies in their musical learning process, particularly in music theory and solfège. These aspects are crucial for developing a strong musical foundation.
Generation 21st Century Magazine: What is the booklet made up of?
Paula Valentina Castelblanco: The booklet has three levels and is aimed at children from 8 to 15 years old. It begins with a brief history and then develops a series of topics based on the clarinet. It also includes some grammar points to help the reader better understand their playing. There are three parts: beginner, basic, and intermediate levels. All of this is accompanied by a YouTube playlist. There, they can play along with the tracks to improve their playing. In conclusion, the project has both analog and digital components.
Generation 21st Century Magazine: What do you plan to do with this booklet in the future?
Paula Valentina Castelblanco: I would like to sell it to the Institute of Sports and Culture of the Government of Cundinamarca or to the music training schools of the Sabana de Bogotá.
Generation 21st Century Magazine: I would like to ask you, what are you grateful to the University of Cundinamarca for?
Paula Valentina Castelblanco: I am absolutely grateful for everything I am as a professional. From day one, I had trainers who always contributed something to my learning process and were always challenging me. It wasn't easy because I had to combine my work as an educator with my studies, but I managed it.
