After six years of study at UCundinamarca, Mario Alejandro Rodríguez not only gained technical knowledge but also significant experiences with Knowledge and Learning Managers, classmates, and administrative staff who shaped his career path. “Graduating from the University of Cundinamarca has opened many doors for me professionally,” he says proudly.
His business, Farmacia Natural Arcángel Rafael, was born before he started university, but it was during his studies that he found the necessary tools to strengthen and expand his business. “I started studying precisely because of the needs of the business. Today we have two locations, one in Ubaté and the other in Simijaca, five employees, and a medical office where my wife practices medicine,” he says.
One of the biggest challenges he faced was during the pandemic. Economic uncertainty hit hard, but Mario didn't stop. He reinvented himself with online services and home deliveries, demonstrating that resilience is key on the entrepreneurial path. "University gave me the foundation to face any difficulty in the administrative environment," he says.
He leaves a clear message for future entrepreneurs and students: “There will always be difficulties, but you have to fight for your dreams. Fear and economic limitations will be present, but if you persevere and dream big, everything is possible.”.
Mario's story is a testament to the impact that higher education has when it connects with the territory, personal dreams, and the realities of entrepreneurship in Colombia.
