The professional career of Adriana Fernanda Moya, a graduate of the Systems and Computing Engineering program at the branch campus, has established her as a benchmark of female leadership in the technology sector, standing out for her commitment to creating support networks and promoting emerging talent.
During her time at the institution, Adriana had an academic experience that went beyond the classroom. Her participation in research groups, technology communities, and agreements with international organizations allowed her to broaden her professional vision and strengthen key skills. “It was an enriching experience that allowed me to connect with different initiatives and people,” she says.
Her entry into the workforce was marked by significant challenges, especially in an environment where the presence of women in technology was limited. This reality motivated her to create spaces for inclusion and support. This led to her involvement in communities like Women Techmakers in Bogotá, an initiative that seeks to highlight women's talent and promote their professional growth in the sector.
Through organizing events, conferences, and academic gatherings, Adriana Fernanda has helped consolidate collaborative learning networks. These experiences, she explains, have been crucial for her international career and the strengthening of her professional profile. “Opportunities arise when you dare to step outside your comfort zone and connect with others,” she says.
In her message to students and future professionals, the engineer emphasizes the importance of taking risks, trusting in one's own abilities, and engaging in continuous learning. She also highlights the role of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, encouraging them to leverage these as tools for growth and innovation.
It also highlights the need to strengthen complementary skills such as English proficiency, which is key to accessing better job opportunities and broadening horizons in a globalized environment.
Finally, Adriana calls on the academic community to build and participate in support networks, understood as fundamental spaces for knowledge exchange and professional development. Her story reflects how perseverance, collaboration, and initiative can transform challenges into opportunities.
