As part of the environmental and life skills training process, students carry out environmental awareness activities and solid waste collection, especially of rubble, to generate a positive environmental change on the Nariño road between the Mega Colegio Francisco Manzanera and the Coliseo Centenario in the city of Girardot.
The academic environmental activity took place on February 18th, and was led by Municipal Planning and the University of Cundinamarca. It also had the support of the company SER ambiental SAESP, an entity that provided the students with wheelbarrows and shovels to collect solid waste, especially rubble. The main work point was in the canal adjacent to the school, a source of bad smells and decomposing material.
The event was attended by 17 first-semester students, one teacher, two Municipal Planning officials, one SER Ambiental official, and five operators from the same company.
It is worth noting that this is the first cleanup day of 2020, which will continue to be held once a month with different students from random semesters of the Environmental Engineering program.
