Gelatins of all sizes and colors, with printed photos for any occasion are the products of Gelart 3D, an enterprise of Yuberney Rodríguez Roa, a graduate of the Business Administration program.
“One day while I was riding the Transmilenio bus, some foreigners got on selling gelatin desserts, and I thought it was interesting. I tried them and liked the flavor. I decided to call them and start selling these tasty products with attractive designs,” said Yuberney, who turned that business idea into a venture where he and his wife Diana work.
Initially, he distributed the gelatins that foreigners prepared; he was their sales agent. But when he saw that they were so well received, he made his own brand and became known.
“The foreigners returned to their home country and sold me the formula for making the gelatin. They trained my wife and me, and since then we've been making it ourselves. It's become the best option for my wife to work from home while taking care of our son,” explained Yuberney, who says that after he started producing the gelatin, they received a much more positive response because the flavor was much better.
Yuberney began producing these gelatins, which he claims are very healthy due to their high collagen content. His wife, Diana, dedicated herself to the artistry of each product; the flowers and shapes are created with love and a desire to further develop Gelart 3D.
The graduate has participated in several business fairs at UCundinamarca and when he was a student, and just starting with his business idea, he received advice from CITGO, which allowed him to advance much further in the business idea, corporate image and sales structure.
Currently, Yuberney distributes its products in different municipalities of the Sabana Centro region at events such as parties, business meetings, and other events where a souvenir or a snack can feature the artistry of its gelatins.
“The pandemic hasn’t stopped us because people use these kinds of details a lot for their celebrations,” said the graduate, who lives in Chía.
Dreams don't stop
The entrepreneur hopes that the gelatin he produces will soon generate enough income to employ many more people; he wants to set up sales points in shopping malls.
Special dates are the best opportunity for Gelart 3D to distribute gelatin in Chía and its surroundings. Yuberney continues to position his company and invites everyone who knows him, and those who don't, to place their orders through social media.
