This academic event, organized by the Faculty of Administrative, Economic and Accounting Sciences, will take place on Thursday, September 30th at 5:00 pm via Facebook Live. The event will share the results of research that has contributed to the proper management and reduction of the problems generated by the pandemic in the municipality, while also presenting proposed solutions to this issue of social interest.
According to Professor Elizabeth Escobar, this research will culminate in a book published in 2021. The research includes results from surveys and interviews conducted with business owners, employees, and self-employed workers, as well as data comparing the different variables in the study. “The data generated was used to design and implement strategies such as: reviewing and validating health protocols, digital marketing, e-commerce promotion and sales, and marketing plan workshops, thus contributing to the economic reactivation of the service sector.”.
It also highlights that effective communication channels were generated, such as: customer service on the mayor's website, formation of trade groups on WhatsApp, emails and media interviews, and the launch of a Bancoldex credit line with minimal interest rates.
The event will include the participation of members of the academic community: students, research trainees, professors, directors and external community such as: businesspeople, Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, Secretariat of Economic Development and Competitiveness of the municipality.
In this way, the academy joins the economic reactivation of the department as a fundamental axis for the generation of employment in order to achieve a fairer society.
