The Facatativá extension paid tribute to UCundinamarca on its 50th anniversary

With the presence of the rector of UCundinamarca, Adriano Muñoz Barrera, and different authorities of the region, a heartfelt tribute was paid to the Alma Mater of the people of Cundinamarca.

The event featured opening remarks from the Administrative Director of the Facatativá Extension, Carlos Fernando Gómez Ramírez, who during his speech emphasized the work carried out by the different members of the university community in the municipality; he also thanked his entire team for their dedication and professionalism. “We did not come into the world to be served, we came to serve.”, These were the words of Gómez Ramírez, reaffirming the commitment of all the teaching and administrative staff of the Extension. It is worth noting that the event began with a sermon by Father and Professor Francisco Javier Zipasuca Quemba.

Following the words of the Administrative Director, the Vice-Rector for Administration and Finance, Myriam Lucía Sánchez Gutiérrez, addressed the attendees, acknowledging the work of the various professors and officials of the Extension.

The tribute continued with recognition of the work of professors and administrative staff, as well as the academic achievements of the students. Among those honored was Congressman Juan Carlos Coy, who is also a professor at the University.

In the afternoon, with Dr. Adriano Muñoz Barrera in attendance, a cultural event was held featuring the University's Music Program, based in Zipaquirá, and the dance group from the Facatativá Extension. Following the musical performance, cake was shared, a toast was made, and the celebration concluded with a mariachi serenade, providing a grand finale.
